As any good Dad would say, it should be Father’s Day everyday! But unfortunately for them it only comes around officially but once a year, and that special Sunday is right around the corner. Stuck for ideas on what to get? We reckon a good bottle of whiskey is a safe bet.
Irish Whiskey is back on the map with more choice for the connoisseurs than ever. So why not this Father’s Day buy the best Dad in the world a bottle of one of the amazing Irish Whiskies we offer.
Considering the year that’s in it as we acknowledge our past and celebrate our unique nation and patriotism, we’ve looked at the true expression of Irish whiskey: the Pot Still. This is unique to our fair isle and is made with a mash of malted and unmalted barley which gives a creamy mouthfeel. It is triple distilled and is considered the quintessential Irish Whiskey.
Red Breast 12yr

This is for the Dad that loves his whiskey creamy and full bodied. It’s a single pot still and he will understand when he tastes it why it is the No. 1 selling pot still whiskey in the world. A high proportion of the whiskey is matured in sherry casks which delivers significant notes of dried fruits of raisins, sultanas and figs. It is a full flavoured whiskey and features a harmonious balance of spice, cream and fruits all in the same drop. You might call it the Christmas cake of Irish Whiskey… YUM!
Greenspot Irish Whiskey

Another classic and sure to please is the Greenspot. It doesn’t have an age statement, but has whiskies in it between 7 and 10 years. It has a full spicy body with the sweetness of apples popping through to give a thoroughly enjoyable whiskey. This delicious pot still will be a welcome gift for even those fussy Dads out there!
Midleton Dair Gaelach

This whiskey couldn’t represent our emerald isle any better. Another single pot still which has been matured in Irish oak barrels, made from virgin oak grown in the Ballaghtobin Estate in Co. Kilkenny. These Irish oak casks were then filled with a range of 15-22yr single pot still distillates and tasted every month until they were perfect!

This robust yet mellow whiskey has hints of cloves and cinnamon and gives away to a dairy fudge and milk chocolate sweetness combining with a touch of stewed apple. And if the sound of the taste doesn’t captivate him, the fact that each bottle is numbered after the tree from which the virgin oak cask was made just might!
